SSI TechXR is a technical diving program designed to take the recreational diver to the next level in their dive training. Whether it is the excitement of deep reefs diving or the thrill of exploring wrecks located past 130 feet, SSI TechXR provides the training and experience necessary to complete each new adventure with confidence and skill.

The SSI TechXR program was designed and tested under the most demanding conditions; and all the complex information has been broken down for ease of understanding. Industry professionals with years of technical experience developed all student training materials. SSI’s signature training method’s the SSI Diver Diamond and Comfort through Repetition has been applied to keep the programs consistent and provide the same high quality education as other SSI programs.

For divers who don’t yet have all the necessary certifications or total number of logged dives needed for Technical Foundations, they can begin with the Advanced Nitrox course. This course takes up where Nitrox left off and provides divers with advanced information regarding physics and physiology and the different Nitrox blends and their application. This course provides divers with the necessary information needed for the Technical Foundation’s course without the more advanced deco dives. Divers will also be presented with more additional skills and emergency procedures to prepare them for the rigors of deeper more technical diving. Specific equipment requirements will also be discussed.

Technical Foundations

Upgrade to Technical Foundations from Advanced Nitrox

The class meets Tuesdays and Fridays for two consecutive weeks from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Both weekends of this course will be used for the training dives. A minimum of 8 dives are planned, weather permitting we will try to do 10 to 12 dives.
