The Scupper Valve snorkel design is based on the same principal as a Scupper Valve in a boat. Most experienced diverand boaters could point to this simple device on the boat, but maybe didn’t know what it was at first.

If you haven’t seen one, then here is how it works. If water enters inside a boat, a one way rubber flapper on the deck, normally located near the rear or “stern” of the boat at about water level, opens to drain water out. Then it quickly closes to prevent back wash. The boat deck is now free of water. The Scupper valve didthe trick. Without it, wacould accumulate inside the boat.

Atomic Aquatics has created another industry first, the ST1 Stainless Steel Regulator.
